اكد قائد شرطة البصرة اللواء جليل خلف مقتل قائد مجموعة (انصار المهدي ) ومصرع واعتقال العشرات من اتباعه عقب اشتباكات عنيفة اندلعت اليوم بين المجموعة وقوات الامن العراقية في مدينة البصرة جنوب العراق يوم 18 كانون ثاني 2008 عاشوراء. وقال خلف في اتصال هاتفي ان جماعة مسلحة قامت اليوم بشن هجمات على قوات الامن العراقية من الشرطة والجيش ومواكب عزاء الحسينية في مدينة البصرة مما اسفر عن مقتل قائد المجموعة والذي ادعى انه من نواب المهدي المنتظر كما لقي اثنين من مساعديه مصرعهما مع عشرات من اتباع المجموعة واعتقال 21 منهم في اشتباكات عنيفة استخدمت فيها شتى انواع الاسلحة وقد تم استجواب المعتقلين وادلو بمعلومات مثيرة بارتكابهم بجرائم كبرى خارج المحافظة وامتنع السيد اللواء عن الكشف عن تفاصيل اخرى باستصناء وجود ادلة عن دعم لدول مجاورة لهذه المجموعة قد تكون خليجية واكد ان الجيش والشرطة مسيطرين على الوضع في المدينه تماما. |
