He's the only director to have spaceships visibly kick the crap out of each other (the through-saucer shot in VI) and keep flying. C12830772 ::: Favorites Not all depends of the director, some writers/creation staff may have a role in all of this. But you are right, Nicholas Meyer was the only pro director employed by the Star Trek producers. Leonard Nimoy was partially successful in the following 2 movies, Billy Shatner performed like sh*t his director job, and Johnatan Frakes with his usual lack of competence.
