Description:

All alone I stand Black and blue inside Stranger on this land Where dreams are known to hide Does it matter now Words we never meant I saved my heart somehow But I can't forget When I find love I hope it to be a little like you When I find love When I open my eyes Let it be you Evil clouds roll by I made it through the rain And I swear ... I swear I'm gonna try To carry on again If shooting stars don't lie You'll come back to me And I know ... I know it's in the sky For us to see When I find love I hope it to be a little like you When I find love When I open my eyes When I find love I saved my heart somehow But I can't forget When I find love I hope it to be a little like you When I find love When I open my eyes Let it be you __________________________ XYZ HUNGRY Released 1991 (Capitol), 2001 (Axe Killer) Track List: 01. Two Wrongs Can Make A Right Review: If you crave straightforward, no-frills rock'n'roll, whet your appetite with XYZ's Hungry. As a main course or as a supplement to your musical diet, it satisfies by providing high energy with no artifical ingredients or filler added. It's not illegal; it's, well, maybe a little immoral; but, hey, it's definately not fattening! Hungry exhibits no pretensions toward being high-class gourmet fodder--how could it, with a menu that leads off with a tidbit called "Face Down In The Gutter"?--but it still cooks. And it's credible for that very reason--for not pretending to be something it isn't. Instead, it's a succession of straightforward fist pumpers that speak less to the cerebrum than to the gut and locales below. Hungry seems (all food puns aside) to be an appropriate title for an album that sates a variety of appetites: the appetite for living life to the fullest (hmmm, maybe too full), described in "Face Down"; the appetite for sensual pleasures, detailed in "Don't Say No"; and, yes, even the appetite for love, covered in the touching ballad "When I Find Love." Although the album is generally dedicated to the wild life, the band seems just a tad restrained and production just a bit too polished to adequately convey this spirit, suggesting that these songs are probably done the most justice when they're let loose in a concert setting. However, after achieving recognition with their Don Dokken-produced debut, and resolving that Hungry be a departure from Dokken's shadow, the album does succeed in more finely delineating XYZ's own character.
